Transportation

Flights
Generally speaking, flight prices can fluctuate dramatically, so checking flight prices every once in a while can be a good idea.  We suggest www.kayak.com to help you view multiple flights at once.

From the Mainland to Maui to Lana'i
This information is for mainland guests who plan to spend time on Maui before the wedding.
If you are planning on spending some time with us on Maui before the wedding, you have several options for flights.
  • Option 1: Fly into HNL.  You will probably find the best prices flying into Honolulu (HNL) and then taking an inter-island flight to either Kahului (OGG) or Kapalua (JHM).  You can purchase inter-island flights on either Hawaiian Airlines (www.hawaiianair.com) or Island Air (www.islandair.com).
  • Option 2:  Fly into OGG.  The Maui Kahului airport (OGG) has direct flights from the mainland and more airlines.
From OGG, you will probably want ground transportation to Lahaina, where Will and Lauren will be staying.  If you choose to fly into OGG and want to rent a car, please see below under "Cars."
  • Option 3:  Fly into JHM.  T
he most convenient airport to fly into will probably be the Kapalua, Maui airport (JHM) because ground transportation from JHM to Lahaina is much easier.  However, Hawaiian and Island Air are the only airlines flying into JHM, and you cannot fly directly there from the mainland (you will have to fly in and out of another Hawaii airport, probably Honolulu HNL).  I am not sure if JHM will be more expensive, but you will be nearby Lahaina, where Will and Lauren will be staying.
From Lahaina, the best transportation to the island of Lana'i is by ferry.  To return to the mainland after the wedding, you can either reverse your initial pathway (ferry from Lana'i to Maui, then fly from Maui back to the mainland); or you can take a flight from Lana'i (LNY) to Honolulu, and fly out of Honolulu (HNL).

From the Mainland to Lana'i
This information is for mainland guests who plan to join us only for the wedding.
If you are planning to join us only for the wedding, you will probably find the shortest flights and best prices flying into the Honolulu airport (HNL), and then catching a connecting flight into the Lana'i airport (LNY).

Cars

On Maui
Before the wedding on Maui, families will probably want to rent their own cars for maximum flexibility.  If you wish to join Will and Lauren at the Outrigger Aina Nalu condo hotel, you will be within walking distance to most of the activities in Lahaina Town.  To rent a car to pick up and drop off in Lahaina, try Hertz (www.hertz.com, 256 Papalaua Street, 808-661-7735).  If you want to rent a car and are flying into OGG, please call Lauren at 650-400-5929.

On Lana'i
For the wedding itself on Lana'i, the Four Seasons Resorts provides unlimited transportation between the resorts, and to the airport, the ferry dock, and Lana'i Town.  They will also provide any transportation to activities that you may want to pursue at the resorts.  You will be charged a one-time transportation fee upon arrival ($45 for adults, $20 for kama`aina adults; less for children), but will then be able to go anywhere you want on the island without worrying about driving yourself!  We are providing transportation for the wedding events.
